Strong Partnership – GP Günter Papenburg AG Invests in 40 Komatsu Machines

Hanover. Against a snow-covered winter backdrop, the handover of the new Komatsu construction machinery took place, attended by Günter Papenburg (GP Günter Papenburg AG), Thomas Schlüter Sr. (Managing Director of Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH), and Göksel Güner (Chief Operating Officer – Komatsu Europe International N.V.).
In addition to the ceremonial handover, the event focused in particular on an in-depth professional exchange regarding the partnership between Papenburg, Komatsu, and Schlüter, which has developed over decades. This investment is the result of a collaboration that has grown over decades. Characterized by reliability, mutual respect, and a shared understanding of quality and performance, this is a steadfast partnership in the construction machinery sector, pursued with great passion, that draws its strength from continuity, experience, and shared values.

State-of-the-art machines for demanding applications
At bauma 2025, GP Günter Papenburg AG invested in 40 Komatsu machines across the wheel loader, dump truck, bulldozer, and crawler excavator segments—all equipped with state-of-the-art 3D machine control systems. These high-performance construction machines will be used in earthworks and road construction, in quarries, and on large-scale infrastructure projects, where they will form the backbone of demanding construction projects. As long-standing dealers and service providers for Komatsu, both companies possess in-depth technical expertise that has grown over decades. This experience is particularly evident in the selection and deployment of high-quality machines that set new standards in reliability, efficiency, and technological precision. The new machine fleet stands for maximum cost-effectiveness in daily operation and for durability under the toughest conditions—qualities that consistently underscore GP Günter Papenburg AG’s strong commitment to quality and its corporate philosophy.
“Many factors play a role in purchasing decisions: technology, quality, ease of use, price, service costs, and support from the supplier. With Komatsu and Schlüter, our years of contact and experience using their machines have given us positive experiences and a sense of confidence. However, what is increasingly influencing our decisions is the use of technologies that not only help us on the construction site but also in the office. Topics like digitalization have long been part of day-to-day business in machine technology as well, and present both manufacturers/suppliers and users with new challenges that we didn’t face in this way when making purchasing decisions in the past. I’m thinking specifically of clean data transmission via the 15143-3 interface, which is far from working the way customers expect. But here, too, we have a partner in Komatsu who understands our vision and supports us in achieving it, and we will continue to walk this path together in the future through many exciting, constructive discussions,” explains Jens Kleinert, Managing Director of GP Papenburg Maschinentechnik GmbH.

A Strong Partnership Between Two Family-Owned Companies with a Nationwide Network
GP Günter Papenburg AG and Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH are two long-established family-owned companies that work closely together and are exceptionally well-positioned nationwide. Since its founding in 1963, GP Günter Papenburg AG has grown into a high-performing corporate group with 66 subsidiaries and approximately 4,000 employees. Its integrated network spans the entire value chain—from raw material extraction and building material production, through the execution of large-scale construction projects and in-house logistics solutions, to modern building material recycling. Schlüter für Baumaschinen complements this strength as a reliable distribution partner with a nationwide service network of 34 branches and over 750 qualified service employees.

Maximilian Schlüter: “For us, the customer comes first. With our 34 Schlüter locations, we offer a dense, nationwide service network that enables short travel distances and fast response times. The delivery of this machine package demonstrates that the combination of our nationwide network and the use of Schlüter systems is a compelling solution for customers operating across regions, such as GP Günter Papenburg AG.”
