High-Performance Machinery Fleet
To successfully execute this exceptional project, the PORR team relies on a powerful combination of machines from the Schlüter RENT fleet. The equipment in use includes a PC290, two PC360NLC, a PC390HRD, and three high-performance hydraulic hammers. The fleet is complemented by a D61PXi bulldozer with modern control technology and a PW180 mobile excavator. While the PC360 and PC390 equipped with demolition hammers efficiently break up the old concrete layer, preparations for reconstruction are already underway. The mobile excavator and bulldozer shape the substructure and ensure precise construction of the load-bearing layer. The PC290 handles loading and unloading of the semi-trailers at the storage yard.

Once the old concrete layer has been broken up, the PC360 equipped with a deep bucket takes over the loading of the broken material onto semi-trailers. More than a dozen semi-trailers are available for transport and material delivery. Everything works in perfect coordination. In a precisely orchestrated process, the machines complement each other to ensure that no time is lost. The tight schedule requires maximum efficiency and flawless timing. By dawn, the area must be completely ready so the airport can resume operations on time.

Smooth Collaboration Ensures Project Success
The project is managed by PORR’s Münster branch. Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH supports the project with the RENT team from Dortmund under the leadership of Robert Millack. On-site technical customer service was also organized by the Dortmund branch, with support from various other Schlüter locations. The around-the-clock service proved to be a major advantage, ensuring that technical questions or unexpected challenges could be addressed immediately—even at night. Also involved was dxbau solutions GmbH, a subsidiary of Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH. On the first day of operation, a survey technician was on-site to support the commissioning of the D61PXi bulldozer, while our support team for machine control was available both by phone and in person throughout the project.
