Erwitte. “A warm welcome to Schlüter” was the motto on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, as a total of 43 new apprentices started their vocational training at Schlüter for Construction Equipment in Erwitte. The young professionals of tomorrow are beginning their training as construction and agricultural machinery mechatronics technicians, management assistants in wholesale and foreign trade, as well as IT specialists for system integration at Germany’s largest dealer for Komatsu and Sennebogen. They were welcomed on their first day by trainers Birgit Stange, Christina Krieger, Ulrich Morth, Johannes Kroll, Finn Herden, Luca Frommann, and Jan Buschkühle.
After receiving a short introduction at the headquarters in Erwitte, the technical and commercial apprentices set off together with their trainers for a three-day apprentice camp in Braunschweig. The program included a visit to the Schlüter branch in Sarstedt, workshops on various topics, a trip to the VW Autostadt in Wolfsburg, as well as a tour of the Komatsu plant in Hanover.
Ulrich Morth, Head of Technical Training, explained:
“Our apprentice trip at the very start of the training naturally serves to help the apprentices get to know each other and build a sense of community. This is particularly important to us as a family-owned company, since all apprentices from our 33 branches come together for centralized training here in Erwitte. At the same time, we establish a direct connection to our premium partners Komatsu and Sennebogen.”
In the coming weeks, the technical apprentices will complete the central basic training course in Erwitte, where they will learn the fundamentals of metalworking, while the commercial apprentices will gain their first practical experience in different departments. During their training, apprentices regularly attend vocational school and interregional training courses at the headquarters in Erwitte, while gaining practical experience in their respective branches. Both technical and commercial apprentices attend vocational school in Lippstadt.
For decades, in-house training has played a central role at Schlüter for Construction Equipment. Since 1989, the Westphalian family business has lived by the motto: “We grow with the youth.” Schlüter for Construction Equipment offers young people diverse and well-founded training in line with the latest curricula for the professions of agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics technician, management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade, and IT specialist for system integration.
During their training, the technical apprentices work with complex construction machinery, while the commercial apprentices gain insight into all business areas. Through training courses, young professionals are also given opportunities for further development. Schlüter for Construction Equipment is proud to say that this concept pays off, as Schlüter apprentices are regularly recognized for their outstanding performance by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce.
