Schlüter für Baumaschinen opens new branch in Gladbeck with Schlüter Day

Gladbeck. On Saturday, August 12, 2023, Schlüter for Construction Equipment celebrated the official opening of its new branch in Gladbeck. After the purchase and commissioning of the new property in early 2022, the Gladbeck branch was now officially opened during a Schlüter Day by the Schlüter family. At the so-called “Schlüter Day Gladbeck,” the family-owned company presented its products, services, and value-driven approach to its customers on the company premises. In total, nearly 260 visitors, suppliers, neighbors, and employees were welcomed in Gladbeck.
The new Gladbeck branch reflects the principles and values of all other Schlüter locations: short distances, direct communication, an open and welcoming culture, and quick response times for customers. The modern facility offers two large workshop halls, a spare parts warehouse, ample office space, and excellent transport connections directly to the A2 motorway. Customers in Gladbeck and the surrounding Ruhr area are supported and advised by a competent team in service, rental, sales, and digital construction solutions.

Optimal conditions created

With a network of 33 branches and over 1,000 employees, Schlüter für Baumaschinen provides its customers with short distances and the best possible service around construction machinery. Covering around three-quarters of the German market, the Westphalian company serves a large part of the country as a premium supplier of Komatsu, Topcon, and attachments from NPK, Genesis, Rotobec, and Starmag. These products are combined with services such as Digital Construction, rental, and customer support to ensure close proximity to customers at all times. In line with Schlüter’s guiding principle of system utilization, every customer is offered an individually tailored range of services.

Official opening celebrated as part of Schlüter Day

Schlüter Day in Gladbeck offered all customers from the Ruhr region the perfect opportunity to experience the Schlüter brand and its full range of products and services first-hand.

The event was attended by numerous visitors, suppliers, neighbors, and employees with their families. At the heart of the event was the official opening of the new branch at Brüsseler Straße 69–71 in Gladbeck. Before managing partner Thomas Schlüter, together with his sons Thomas and Maximilian Schlüter and his wife Petra Schlüter, handed over the branch key to branch manager Johannes Blomenkamp, City Planning Officer Dr. Volker Kreuzer, Business Development Officer Hendrik Knepper, and Komatsu representative René Albertz conveyed their congratulations.

After the official program, customers and guests had the chance to explore the world of Schlüter on their own. A large machinery exhibition showcased nearly the entire Komatsu product range, along with equipment from other suppliers. In addition, Schlüter’s service divisions RENT (rental), customer support, and Digital Construction presented themselves at dedicated information booths. Across its 33 branches in Germany, Schlüter for Construction Equipment offers more than 2,500 rental machines – from compact to large models – as well as corresponding attachments and control systems. As Germany’s largest authorized Komatsu dealer, customers benefit from quality, reliability, and the renowned Schlüter service.

A particular highlight of Schlüter Day in Gladbeck was the live demo of Digital Construction on the Schlüter premises. Products from Schlüter for Construction Equipment and G-tec were showcased in action, including:

  • Machine control: 2D, 3D, display, and semi-automatic
  • Surveying and positioning
  • Drones: surveying, volume calculation, and inspection
  • Software and data analytics

Visitors were fascinated by the wide range of applications for Digital Construction – from project consulting and surveying to data processing and machine control. The experts provided impressive demonstrations of the digital transformation from machine operation to fully digital construction sites.

The driver competition was also very well received, giving customers the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in handling machinery. The top three drivers were awarded trophies. Guests were also treated to a variety of food and drinks throughout the day.

Schlüter Day in Gladbeck was characterized by intensive technical discussions in a relaxed atmosphere. The entire Schlüter team looks back with satisfaction on a successful customer event made possible by close teamwork. The family-owned company is already looking forward to many exciting future projects and events in Gladbeck!
