Komatsu PC2000-11E0 – The rugged open-pit quarry giant for efficient material handling
The sale of the Komatsu PC2000-11E0 to Amberger Kaolinwerke is a major success for Schlüter Construction Machinery. This quarry giant is now Bavaria’s largest excavator and one of the largest and most powerful construction machines ever sold by Schlüter. Weighing 200 tons and with a bucket capacity of 7.5 m³, the Komatsu PC2000-11E0 opens up entirely new possibilities in material handling and significantly increases efficiency in the mining process. The robust machine is equipped with a simplified power module (cooling system, engine, PTO, and hydraulic pumps), in which all major components are easily accessible, ensuring low noise levels in the cab and shorter maintenance times.
As early as late 2023, the management of Amberger Kaolinwerke decided to invest in a new excavator, as the previous machine had reached the end of its service life after 22,000 operating hours. The decision to choose the Komatsu PC2000-11E0 was based not only on its high performance but, above all, on the excavator’s reliability and robust design. The custom-made bucket is precisely tailored to the requirements of the kaolin plant. Schlüter for Construction Machinery and Amberger Kaolinwerke worked closely together on the development and fine-tuning of this bucket to find the optimal solution for the plant’s needs.
Alexander Heiß, Managing Director of the Quarzwerke Group, is enthusiastic about the new excavator: “With its enormous power and size, the Komatsu PC2000-11E0 will significantly simplify work at the kaolin plants and make production more efficient. Furthermore, with this investment, we also want to set the course for a sustainable future.”
Collaboration Based on Partnership as the Key to Success
The delivery of the 200-ton excavator not only marks an important milestone for Schlüter für Baumaschinen, but also underscores the trust that Amberger Kaolinwerke places in the expertise and reliability of the Westphalian construction equipment dealer.
The assembly of the Komatsu PC2000-11E0 was a challenging project that required precise coordination and the technical expertise of Schlüter’s technicians. Six service specialists spent eight days on the basic assembly of the machine, followed by four additional days for the installation of special attachments and one day for the assembly of the bucket. The smooth process was only possible thanks to close cooperation between Amberger Kaolinwerke and Schlüter für Baumaschinen’s service, sales, and application consultants—an outstanding team effort!
