Meschede. By investing in a new Komatsu HB365LC-3, Reichelt Tiefbau GmbH of Gütersloh is adding a high-performance hybrid excavator to its fleet. The machine combines high productivity with significantly improved fuel efficiency and will support the company in future challenging earthworks projects.
IIn its current project, Reichelt is assisting with the construction of the Frielinghausen-Höringhausen wind farm. Following the construction of access roads and the cut-and-fill work for crane sites and foundation excavations, the focus is now on the third wind turbine. Due to the rocky terrain, this requires particularly complex earthworks – the perfect time to upgrade to the HB365NLC-3 under ideal operating conditions.
Reliability and precision in civil engineering
Reichelt Tiefbau GmbH is a high-performing partner for civil engineering and earthworks, specialising in the professional execution of challenging infrastructure projects. The company combines in-depth expertise, state-of-the-art technology and high quality standards to deliver projects reliably, on time and cost-effectively. Its range of services includes, amongst other things, earthworks, civil engineering services and the execution of complex construction projects for public and private clients. Cooperation based on partnership, sustainable solutions and the highest precision in execution are at the heart of the company’s operations.
Sustainable performance for the wind farm: HB365LC-3 permanently replaces hire machine
A Komatsu PC240NLC-11 and a D61PXi-24 from Schlüter for Construction Machinery were already in use during the project. A PC360NLC 11 from the RENT fleet is now being replaced by the HB365LC-3 hybrid excavator and permanently added to the fleet of Reichelt Tiefbau GmbH.
During the heavy earthworks for the third wind turbine, the machine is responsible for
breaking up the rocky subsoil. With the help of the XCentric Ripper XR32, the rock is broken up reliably and efficiently.
A distinctive feature of the Komatsu HB365LC-3 is its innovative hybrid concept. Swivelling the upper structure generates energy, which is stored and used to assist the diesel engine. This results in fuel savings of up to 20 per cent compared with a comparable Komatsu PC360LC-11.
Furthermore, the machine is fitted with various optional extras such as the Drivers Edition and ‘Coming Home’ and ‘Leaving Home’ functions, designed to further enhance the operator’s comfort and day-to-day working experience.
Precise digitisation with dxbau solutions
To ensure maximum efficiency, the hybrid excavator was also fitted with a Topcon MC-Max 3D machine control system. The installation and commissioning were carried out by dxbau solutions GmbH, a subsidiary of Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH and a specialist in digital construction site solutions.
The 3D machine control system enables precise work based on digital terrain models, reduces rework and material usage, and boosts productivity. Marcel Reichelt is also enthusiastic: “The MC-Max system allows us to calibrate all attachments, such as a jackhammer or the ripper. This saves us from having to carry out manual re-measurements using a rover pole. The semi-automatic system also enables us to work precisely and efficiently even on long working days!”
In this way, Schlüter für Baumaschinen and dxbau solutions complement each other within the Schlüter Group to form a comprehensive solutions provider – from high-performance construction machinery and comprehensive consultancy right through to the intelligent digitalisation of the construction site.
