The venue made the event truly special. Williams Racing and Komatsu are linked by an international partnership that focuses on technology, innovation and top performance. The setting was equally impressive: in the very place where work is normally carried out on the cars for the Formula 1 World Championship, Komatsu showcased its latest developments relating to the PC220LCi-12 hydraulic excavator.
Following a joint evening programme with the Komatsu team on the day of arrival, the second day of the event was entirely devoted to modern construction machinery technology. Participants were welcomed at the Williams Experience Centre and then divided into smaller groups to take part in various programme activities. The focus was on the presentation and demonstration of the new Komatsu PC220LCi-12, as well as other machinery solutions from the Komatsu portfolio. In a demo arena, guests were able to experience the latest technologies in a practical setting and discuss current developments and future applications with experts. The technical programme was complemented by a detailed workshop on the PC220LCi-12 and exclusive insights into the working world of Williams Racing. Participants toured the Formula 1 team’s production facilities, gained access to the Williams Museum with its numerous historic racing cars, and learned first-hand how the highest levels of precision, efficiency and innovation contribute to success in both motorsport and modern engineering. Another highlight was the visit to the e-sports lounge, where racing and driving simulators provided a particularly vivid driving experience.
The combination of state-of-the-art construction machinery technology and the fascinating atmosphere of a Formula 1 venue made the event an extraordinary experience. At the same time, the event provided an ideal platform for face-to-face interaction between customers, employees and Komatsu’s experts. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants confirmed the great importance of such events, where innovative technologies are not merely presented but can be experienced first-hand.
