Troisdorf. At the MINERALplus GmbH landfill site, a new Komatsu PC360 is now assisting with daily earthworks and grading operations. The machine, supplied by Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH, has been specially tailored to the requirements of landfill operations and, with the Rototilt RC9, features a particularly high-performance swivel rotator solution. For Schlüter Baumaschinen, this is also the first Rototilt in this machine class to be delivered in Germany.
MINERALplus relies on bespoke technology
Where mineral waste is stored safely and permanently, high-performance and reliable machinery is essential. MINERALplus GmbH operates a Class III landfill site in Troisdorf, where it carries out important tasks within the regional recycling and waste management sector. To make day-to-day operations even more efficient, the company invested in a new crawler excavator, the specifications of which were specifically adapted to the on-site operating conditions.
The project was carried out in collaboration with Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH, which configured the machine to the customer’s specifications. “True performance is achieved where innovative technology meets bespoke solutions. Together with Schlüter, we have created a machine that is precisely tailored to our requirements,” explains Operations Manager Dennis Stegmann.
Focus on flexibility and productivity
The machine is used in particular for profiling work, the shaping of landfill sites and large-scale material handling operations. Thanks to its reach of just under twelve metres, even larger work areas can be handled efficiently.
An integrated 3D machine control system ensures maximum precision, assisting the operator in the exact implementation of terrain profiles. The equipment is complemented by a protective ventilation system and a quick-change system, which significantly speeds up the process of switching between different attachments.
Depending on the task, either a large-capacity backhoe bucket for earthworks or a wide trenching bucket for fine grading and profiling work is used. The combination of a powerful base machine and attachments tailored to the application enables high productivity whilst maintaining precise operation.
Rototilt RC9 opens up new possibilities
A key component of the machine’s design is the integrated Rototilt RC9. As the manufacturer’s largest swivel rotator, it was developed for carrier machines in the 32 to 43-tonne class and significantly expands the PC360’s range of applications.
The combination of rotational and swivelling movements allows attachments to be positioned in almost any way. Particularly in landfill operations, where work is often carried out on embankments, crossings or in hard-to-reach areas, this reduces unnecessary repositioning and noticeably speeds up workflows.
The new generation of the RC9 is particularly impressive thanks to its hydraulic control system. It enables several movements to be carried out simultaneously and with great precision, allowing even complex tasks to be performed accurately. For the machine operator, this means significantly better control and a noticeable improvement in comfort.
Thanks to its robust construction, high torque and additional hydraulic connections, the swivel rotator is also designed for demanding applications and the use of further hydraulic attachments. The result is maximum versatility combined with high load-bearing capacity.
For Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH, the project marks a significant milestone: the RC9 used at MINERALplus is the first Rototilt of this size that the company has delivered. The machine impressively demonstrates how modern excavator technology and intelligent attachments can be combined to create a bespoke solution, thereby setting new standards for efficiency and precision in landfill operations.
