The Munich Bauma 2022 - a resounding success
Erwitte. Last week, from 24 to 30 October 2022, more than 495,000 people from over 200 countries visited the world's leading trade fair for construction machinery, construction material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment at the Munich exhibition centre. A total of around 3,200 exhibitors from 60 countries showed their products and services at Bauma. Schlüter's large construction equipment team – with a total of 100 staff across the Sales, RENT, Finance, Customer Service and Digital Jobsite departments – was also there, representing Schlüter at the booths of premium suppliers Komatsu, Sennebogen, G-tec, NPK, Genesis and Topcon. This year's Bauma far exceeded the expectations of the industry, including those of Schlüter for Construction Equipment.
The highlights of the Bauma week, which, in 2022, was characterised by the concepts of sustainability and digitalisation, also included the exhibition of Komatsu’s and Sennebogen’s machines and discussion of their current topics. Alongside some new excavators, such as the PC950LC-11 and PC170LC-11 hydraulic excavators as well as the PC17R-5 and PC20R-5 mini-excavators, Komatsu also showcased some future-oriented electric machines. These innovations included the all-electric prototype WA Electric wheel loader and the new generation of crawler excavators. Integrated machine control was featured strongly, represented by the PC210LCi-11, PC290LCi-11, D51PXi-24, and D71PXi-24. In a separate Smart Construction area, digital transformation in earthworks was also illustrated. A highlight for all trade show visitors was Komatsu's hourly hosted demo show, where many of the vehicles, including the impressive PC4000-11E mining excavator, could be admired in action.
Sennebogen, too, had some exciting machine news. The Sennebogen 885 G celebrated its world premiere in Munich as the largest handling machine ever exhibited at Bauma, and the 830 Demolition, a demolition excavator with two new equipment features, was shown in the open-air exhibition grounds. The new 824 G recycling excavator was also presented, and so was the 340 G telescopic handler, a unique machine that combines the advantages of the telehandler with those of the wheel loader.
At NPK and Genesis, impressive high-quality attachments, such as the NPK SV500R concrete crusher and the C-8CR compactor, and the new Genesis GXT 335R mobile steel shears were on display. This year's Bauma also saw a particularly creative campaign, which was dubbed ‘Steel Shears Art'. The artwork by a graffiti artist on the GXT 665R steel shears symbolised the excellent cooperation between the two companies.
In the areas of machine control, surveying technology, drones and cloud-based analytics tools, data processing, technical support and training, Schlüter for Construction Equipment, G-tec Positioning and Topcon enjoyed numerous in-depth conversations with trade fair visitors and, as strong partners in the field of digitalisation, were able give advice.
At the end of an intense trade fair year, Schlüter for Construction Equipment can look back on Bauma 2022 as the year’s culminating event with immense satisfaction. Managing Director Thomas Schlüter sums up the trade fair in Munich saying: “The general feeling we are going home with is a high degree of optimism. We are very enthusiastic about the stage that our manufacturers have given us here. We had an incredible number of goal-oriented conversations and were able to see that our team, our Schlüter team, is growing and sticking together."
Schlüter for Construction Equipment would like to express its sincere thanks to all those involved in Bauma 2022 and is looking forward to any future developments.
