“We are all called upon to treat nature with care and in a sustainable manner. We too wish to play our part and have established ‘Schlüter bee colonies’ on our premises. In line with our motto ‘We grow with the young’, we are looking to the future of the next generations with a sense of responsibility and want to make a small contribution,” says Petra Schlüter, Head of Corporate Culture.
With 12 bee colonies, a total of around 600,000 bees call the Schlüter site in Erwitte home. A local beekeeper is responsible for looking after the bees and processing the honey.

Bees play an indispensable role in our ecosystem. They are just as responsible for ecologically balanced biodiversity as they are for bountiful harvests. Almost 80% of all cultivated and wild plants are pollinated by honeybees. In this way, they ensure the dietary diversity that animals and humans need for a healthy diet.
We would like to warmly welcome the 600,000 new Schlüter employees to the Erwitte site and look forward to a fruitful future!
